Blessed with a happy disposition inherited from my Grandma, I am determined to enjoy life and to grow old disgracefully. A life-long learner, I am passionate about learning and love to share my enthusiasm for textile crafts and tinkering with technology.
As a schoolgirl I emigrated to Rhodesia, (now Zimbabwe) with my family. As an adult I returned to the UK with a husband and our firstborn. By the time I was twenty-one I had given birth to our second son and started to investigate ways of completing my higher education. Eventually, I qualified as a teacher and taught at primary school until early retirement gave me the opportunity to indulge in my love of textiles: knitting, crochet and sewing. I have lived with narcolepsy since I was a teenager, managing the condition without medication.
Why “Coraljane”?
In 2008, inspired by “The Hyperbolic Crochet Coral Reef Exhibition”, at the Hayward Gallery which was curated by Margaret and Christine Wertheim, I crocheted my own crochet coral reef.
